Caitlin Clark, guard for the Indiana Fever, acted as grand marshal for the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 24, 2026. She appeared on the celebrity red carpet and delivered the command for drivers to start their engines. The Fever shared video of Clark acknowledging spectators before the race.

Clark described the role in a pre-race statement as an honor to represent the team and take part in one of Indiana’s signature sporting traditions. Indianapolis Motor Speedway president J. Douglas Boles noted that Clark’s participation allowed fans to share in the day’s events through an existing partnership arrangement.

Clark returned to play earlier in the week and recorded 22 points with nine assists in the Fever’s 90-82 victory over the Golden State Valkyries. The Indianapolis 500 is the largest single-day spectator sporting event in the world and has previously featured other athletes and entertainers in the grand marshal position.

Clark is expected to continue with the Fever’s remaining regular-season schedule as the team seeks a playoff berth.
